Our Summer Travel baseball program held onto its reputation as being one of the best in CT in 2021. WHYBL wound up fielding six teams at five different age levels. Our 8U team competed in the player-pitch CT State Tournament for the very first time, while also playing in the popular machine-pitch Friendship tournament. The 9U, 10U, and 11U teams enjoyed competition in CT and MA tournament play - - with the 10U District Hornets winning the District 3 Championship and a War at the Shore title, and the 11U District Tigers capturing 2nd place at War at the Shore. The 12U Travel Murder Hornets had a great run at the Cal Ripken Regional Tournament in Maine. The 12U District Walrus team brought home championships from the CT Jimmy Fund Tournament, the Old Rochester (MA) Cranberry Brawl, the Ken Hungerford Tournament, and the War at the Shore. The highlight of the summer was the 12U Walrus going 10-1 and advancing to the championship game in the week-long national Cooperstown (NY) Dreams Park tournament.
Planning for the 2022 Summer Travel baseball season for our 8U-12U teams has already begun! We have some exciting travel opportunities available for potential travel players in 2022, including:
Cal Ripken Districts, States, and New England Regionals (West Hartford will be hosting the 9U Cal Ripken New England Regional Tournament at Wolcott Park!)
A week-long trip to Cooperstown Dreams Park for the 12U District team
A trip to Columbia, MD for the 11U District team
2022 Summer Travel tryouts are scheduled for Saturday, March 26th.
