Welcome to the 26th annual Ken Hungerford Invitational Tournament hosted by the West Hartford Youth Baseball League!  We are glad to see that you are interested in our tournament this year.  Here are some of the details:


  • Tournament games are held at Wolcott Park and Beachland Park.  Wolcott Park is a lighted field with an excellent atmosphere for spectators as the field sits in a bowl-like stadium where fans view from above on the hill.  There is easy access from I-84.  This field offers concessions with drinks and snacks.  Beachland Park is a similar field with a hill for viewing and the iconic home run pond out in center field.  Both fields have electronic scoreboards.
  • Tournament games have been highly competitive in the past with Little League, Cal Ripken, and AAU teams participating.
  • All games will be played on a 50/70 diamond.
  • Bats must be USA certified.  All -3 bats must be BBCOR certified.  Wood bats are allowed.
  • The tournament will include 3 round robin style pool play games for each team and a single elimination playoff bracket.  All 8 teams will be included in the playoff bracket.
  • The tournament will run from Thursday, July 23rd through Sunday, July 26th (unless there is substantial inclement weather or a smaller field of teams than anticipated).
  • A skills competition will be held on Saturday, July 25th at 6:30 PM at Wolcott Park.  The skills competition will include Road Runner (timed around the bases), Golden Arm (throwing from center field), and Home Run Derby.
  • Cal Ripken rules will apply in the tournament.
  • Registrations will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis.
  • Trophies will be awarded to 1st and 2nd place finishers.


The total cost for each team will be $550 (includes baseballs and umpires), but all we ask in the time being is that you submit a $100 deposit by Wednesday, July 1st to hold a spot for your club.  The remaining $450 is due by Wednesday, July 15th.
