Our summer travel baseball program held on to its reputation as being one of the best in CT in 2019. WHYBL wound up fielding six teams at five different age levels. The teams performed well in popular tournaments all over CT (and sometimes outside of CT!), including a few final four and runners up finishes in our 9U and 11U divisions. The season was highlighted with our 10U and 12U70 District teams winning District 3 Championships. The 10U District "Walrus" team was also War at the Shore Champs in East Lyme. Our 12U70 District "Bulldogs" won several tournaments throughout the Summer, as well as going on an unprecedented run through the Babe Ruth/Cal Ripken playoffs. They won District 3, CT State, and New England Regional Championships and advanced to play in the Babe Ruth/Cal Ripken World Series in Missouri! The 12U70 "Bulldogs" went 3-3 at the World Series, which included 28 teams from all over the world.
In 2020, we focused our efforts on the 12U70 District team due to COVID-19. The team went 15-6, competing in the Cal Ripken CT State Tournament and winning the local Ken Hungerford Invitational Tournament!
Planning for the 2021 summer travel baseball season for our 8U-12U teams has already begun! We have some exciting travel opportunities available for potential travel players in 2021, including:
Cal Ripken Districts, States, and New England Regionals (West Hartford will be hosting the 12U70 State Tournament at Wolcott Park!)
A trip to Cooperstown Dreams Park for the 12U70 District team
A potential trip to the Ripken Experience in Aberdeen, MD for the 11U team
Stay tuned for announcements regarding travel baseball soon!
